Reading Unit 1: Interpretation book clubs- Analyzing themes
Book Clubs: The student set a goal for how many pages to read with their book clubs. Depending on how long it takes them to read to the club goal they can:
Read another book for the remainder of the time
OR
If students find if difficult to read 2 books simultaneously (at the same time), reread parts of the book club book and work on the jots and post-its.
3 jots- can be about story elements of ideas and theories you are developing about the characters and the text.
3 questions - Create questions as you read- Make sure they are questions that you can bring back to your book club for further discussion
